Steal a Bird’s View for a Day

Swap the sofa for a sky‑sofa and float up to around 900 ft over the Peak District with one of our slightly ginger, very qualified tandem pilots. No experience, bravado or Lycra required – just shoes you can walk up a hill in and a vague sense of adventure.

What actually happens

  • Meet in the valley, chat about the weather (of course) and run through a relaxed safety brief.

  • A steady 5–25 minute walk to take‑off, depending which hill and how optimistic your pilot is feeling.

  • A few steps, the wing fills, and suddenly you’re sat in a flying armchair with Derbyshire laid out underneath you. No cliff‑jumping, no roller‑coaster drop, just smooth lift.

Up there in the sky‑sofa

  • Typically 20–30 minutes in the air, with the chance to climb higher if the conditions are playing nicely.

  • Enjoy big Peak District views, a bit of banter, and – if you want – a go on the brakes to feel how the wing responds. If you don’t, we’ll just keep it mellow.

  • Gentle slide‑in landing back on the hill or in the valley, legs down, big grin.

Who it’s for (and not for)

  • First‑timers, nervous flyers, “I’ve always wanted to try that” people, and unsuspecting gift‑voucher victims.

  • Maximum weight around 16 stone (100 kg), minimum age 14 with parental consent – and you need to be able to walk up a hill without writing a complaint email.

  • If you love fairground rides and want full‑on acro, tell us – otherwise we keep it smooth and scenic.

Safety, small print and British weather

  • BHPA‑registered school, fully insured, with many years of tandem and solo flying in the local area. We take the safety bit seriously so you can muck about in the photos.

  • Proper boots with ankle support are a must; bring outdoor layers and gloves because Derbyshire has “interesting” ideas about temperature.

  • Paragliding is weather‑dependent, so if the forecast misbehaves we’ll reschedule rather than drag you up a hill for nothing – you get the flight, not just the walk.

  • Booked flights are not refundable and must be used within one year of booking.
